Description

Opies stem ginger in syrup brings a fiery zing to sweet and savoury dishes. Young stem ginger is crafted into small round balls, then preserved in a sweet sugar syrup for a hot and fragrant mix of flavours.  

This versatile ingredient is wonderful used in desserts – finely chop the stem ginger and add to sticky ginger cakes for texture, pour a little syrup over roasted rhubarb and serve with yogurt, or use as a garnish for treacle tarts. Alternatively, add a little chopped ginger to homemade stuffing, or use the syrup as a sweet glaze for gammon.
