Description

Sugarcane molasses, also known as sugarcane syrup or blackstrap molasses, is treacly-rich, with a robust and sweet flavour, and a black, nearly-opaque appearance. Sugarcane molasses is made from 100% pure and natural sugarcane, with the molasses’ production process preserving the nutrients from the sugarcane. 

Sugarcane molasses can be used in baking – it makes a luxuriant, rich gingerbread. The sweet, sticky flavours also make sugarcane molasses a good way of harnessing traditional American flavours. Try adding a couple of tablespoons to cowboy beans for that molasses-rich flavour, and even use it to baste a chicken or turkey for a dark colour and rich flavour.
